TWOSPOT SAND GOBY
Coryphopterus duospilus Hoese & Reader, 1985
Yellowish brown spots on a translucent whitish body help this goby to blend into the sand. Its dorsal fin, usually raised, is marked with a black line that extends onto the back. It typically occurs in small groups at the edge of the reef on silty sand, hiding under coral slabs and seldom venturing far from cover. To 2.5 in. Indo-Pacific. Some authors place it in the genus Fusigobius. Photo: Olowalu, Maui. 50 ft.
