** Below are sample changes made to the original edition.

p.28. UPSIDE-DOWN JELLYFISH. Cassiopea medusa Light 1914 should be Cassiopea andromeda Forskal 1775. Replace sentence beginning "A similar species, C. mertensi…." with "A different species of Cassiopea occurs in Kane`ohe Bay and other areas of windward O`ahu. DNA analysis shows that this as-yet-unnamed windward species was introduced from the Western Pacific, possibly New Guinea, whereas the leeward species, C. andromeda, came from the Atlantic Ocean or the Red Sea."

p. 34. Replace Anthelia edmondsoni with Sarcothelia edmondsoni. The genus of this little coral has been changed several times in the last few years, from Anthelia to Sansibia and finally to Sarcothelia.

p. 57: EVERMANN'S CORAL. Replace "Evermann's Coral" with "Mound Coral." Replace "Porites evermanni Dana 1846" with "Porites lutea Milne-Edwards & Haime." The species long known in Hawai`i as Porites evermanni is actually Porites lutea. More details are available in Fenner's Corals of Hawai`i (Mutual Publishing, Honolulu, April 2005).

p. 64. The orange colony in the upper photo is Cladopsammia eguchii (Wells 1982).

p. 65. The colonies in the top photo are probably Rhizopsammia verrilli van der Horst 1922.

p. 70. FEATHERY BLACK CORAL: The genus has been changed from Antipathes to Myriopathes and the species should probably be “c.f japonica

p. 78. GLORIOUS FLATWORM: Replace Glorious Flatworm with Hyman's Flatworm (3 places). Replace "Pseudobiceros gloriosus Newman & Cannon 1994" with "Pseudobiceros hymanae Newman & Cannon 1997." The photo of the swimming animal was misidentified as Pseudobiceros gloriosus because at the time P. hymanae had not yet been described. A larger photo of the true P. gloriosus, taken outside Hawai`i, appears beneath it. The true P. gloriosus has not been recorded from Hawai`i. P. hymanae lacks the pink middle marginal band present on gloriosus.

p. 156. TILED PLEUROBRANCH Pleurobranchus sp. 2 is a dark form of Pleurobranchus grandis, a widespread Indo-Pacific species.
